Ducks & Geese
Ducks, geese and their kin have long been a favorite for hunters and birders alike. Fabulous eyesight, natural wariness of man, and acrobatic flight make these birds challenging to photograph.

These could easily be called "game birds" because they have always been hunted for their meat and plumage. Their keen eyesight, natural wariness, and ability to fly away at high speed s make these birds a challenge – but most can be called in.

This category includes the song birds and all other birds not in other collections in these galleries. Patience and practice are needed to photograph these birds. A 400mm-600mm lens doesn't hurt either.

Owls, Hawks, Eagles
These large predators are my favorites. They can be elusive, but putting in plenty of field time scouting and talking with landowners will pay off. The sharp eyesight, hearing, and generally high vantage point give them an advantage.

Wading & Shore Birds
Almost always found near water, but they can be found in fields and agricultural areas as well. Try and shoot at water or eye level for good perspective. Long glass is a must as it is for most birds.

This gallery of birds are not found in Oklahoma except at zoos and animal parks. None are native to North America. So,e have established colonies in very specific areas where they have escaped confinement.
